Power Word Repetition

Power Word Repetition is a technique used to get the most important words of the matter into the public"s mind by making them repetitive. This is a very good example, since the designer of this ad wanted to make people more aware about Autism. The word Autism is mentioned three times in this ad.

Fear Mongering/Fear Tactics

Fear Mongering are forms of advertisements used to scare the public to alter their behavior, usually for a cause that is seen right by the government. This is a good example, because it suggests that aids is like Hitler, and pushes people to be safe and practice safe sex.

Transfer

Transfer technique uses words and ideas with positive connotations to suggest that positive qualities should be associated with this product, matter, or person. This is a good example of Transfer, because shows the optimistic current President in front of the American flag. It suggests that he will do good for America.

Snob Appeal / Avante Garde

Snob Appeal is a suggestion that the use of the product makes the costumer part of an elite group, who are seen as the higher and attractive class of society. This is a good example of Snob Appeal because it suggests that if you use that product you will be muscular and attractive.

Plain Folks

Plain Folks is a suggestion that the product or other matter is perfect for ordinary people, and is good of value. This is a great example of Plain Folks, ordinary people are used to suggest that the product is practical and everyone can afford it.

Card Stacking / Framing

Card Stacking is a propaganda technique which involves sharing only the positive information, while leaving all of the negative things out, making the product or another matter more appealing to the public. This is a good example of Card Stacking because the sign does not mention how harmful smoking is, but talks about how pleasurable smoking is.

Bandwagon

Bandwagon is an appeal to the subject to follow the crowd, it is used to convince people to try or buy the product because so many people already have. This is a good example of Bandwagon, as on the sign it says over 99 billion served.
